- Right-click an empty space on the desktop and select Create Launcher then configure the following items:
- Type: Application
- Name: Whatever name you want (should be unique, like RootNautilus or something)
- Command: gksudo nautilus
- Comment: Whatever comment you want (optional)
- Additionally, you could select a different icon for your shortcut by clicking the default spring-board icon in the top left corner. A sizable collection of icons is located at /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable.
- Click OK.
- Double-click your new launcher and you should be prompted to enter the password for the root account. Once this is done, root-level Nautilus file browser will open. Take extra caution when using root-level access to anything.
